matchbook mag - hello sunshine
a wonderfully fun day with an amazing group of people = new fashion editorial for matchbook mag. photographed by super talented and all around amazing person jenna alcala. i was pretty excited to open it up and see that gwyneth paltrow was a contributor to this month’s issue. since i’m a contributor and she is a contributor i think that means by default we are now best friends.

Remember when you were 16, you and all your cool friends would hang out by the beach, with your long hair, perfect bone structure and lithe bodies, while spending long days with hot boys, and life was perfect without a care in the world? yeah. me neither.
Maybe that’s part of the reason why i love Nirrimi Hakanson’s photography. I adore a window, when left open, into other people’s worlds via imagery. Her mantra, someone who is “loud through images” suits her well.
I think I also want to BE Nirrimi Hakanson. Her work is exceptional. Breathtaking. If the fact that she is only 17 doesn’t make you feel old and talentless I don’t know what will.
